FAQ
-
All classes are booked through the Core Club Studio app or via our website. Create an account, choose your class, and you’re in.
If it’s your first time, we recommend starting with Fundamentals, Focus, or any beginner-friendly class listed on the timetable.
-
You’ll find us in Fitzroy, New Plymouth, tucked behind The Hub Café.
There is free and easy parking around the back.
-
Wear something comfortable that you can move in.
Grip socks are required on the reformer for safety and hygiene. Bring your own, or you can purchase a pair in the studio.
A water bottle is a good idea too.
-
Expect to learn, not perform.
Your first class is about getting familiar with the reformer, understanding the pace, and finding your base. The movements might feel new at first, but we’ll guide you through it.
You don’t need to be flexible, fit, coordinated, or know what you’re doing before you arrive. That’s what class is for.
-
Yes. Core Club is for beginners, regular movers, returners, runners, surfers, gym people, parents, desk bodies, stiff bodies, strong bodies, tired bodies - all of it.
Some classes are more advanced than others, so check the class description before booking. If you’re unsure, get in touch and we’ll help point you in the right direction..
-
Reformer Pilates is movement done on a spring-loaded machine called a reformer.
The springs create resistance and support, helping you build strength, control, mobility, balance, and body awareness. It can be slow and detailed, strong and athletic, or somewhere in between.
At Core Club, we use the reformer as a tool, not a rulebook.
-
Yes and that is what we are all about, it works really well.
A lot of our community uses Core Club alongside running, surfing, skating, gym training, sport, walking, or simply keeping up with life.
Reformer helps build the strength, mobility, control, and support that carries into everything else you do.
-
We offer small-group Reformer Pilates classes with different levels and intentions — from beginner foundations to stronger, more dynamic classes.
You’ll find options focused on strength, mobility, control, flow, and full-body conditioning. Check the timetable for the current class mix and level guide.
-
Core Club is Pilates-inspired, movement-led, and coached with care.
We respect the foundations, but we’re not stuck in rigid rules. Our style blends strength, mobility, precision, rhythm, and real-life function.
Think: intelligent movement, good music, small groups, strong coaching, and a room that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Movement should bring us back to connection with ourselves but also with others.
-
We lean contemporary.
That means we use the reformer in a modern way, while still respecting the principles behind Pilates: control, breath, alignment, strength, and awareness.
Our classes are structured, coached, and intentional - but they also move with energy, creativity, and a little more freedom.
-
If you have an injury, medical condition, are returning after surgery, or have been advised to avoid certain types of movement, please check with your doctor or healthcare provider before coming to class.
Let your instructor know about anything important before class starts. We can often offer options or adjustments, but we need to know what’s going on so we can support you properly.
You are always allowed to pause, skip an exercise, or choose the option that feels right for your body on the day.
-
Yes- Reformer Pilates can be a great way to move during this time. Please get in touch prior to booking, so the teacher can make sure to plan accordingly and offer the modifications as needed.
Pregnancy is not one-size-fits-all, and we want to make sure you are in the right class with the right support depending on your stage, experience, and how you’re feeling.
-
Nothing too intense. Just the good stuff.
Arrive on time, wear grip socks, wipe down your reformer after class, listen to your body, and be kind to the people around you.
Phones away during class unless you genuinely need them nearby. This is your time to be in the room.
-
We have a 6-hour cancellation window.
If you cancel outside that window, your class credit will return to your account. If you cancel late or don’t show, the class will be deducted from your pass or membership.
-
If a class is full, join the waitlist.
When a spot opens, the system will offer it to the next person in line. Keep an eye on your notifications and emails, especially close to class time.
If you can no longer make it, please remove yourself from the waitlist so the spot can go to someone else.
-
Your class pass starts from the date of your first booked class, not the date you purchase it.
Please check the expiry date when you buy, as different passes have different timeframes.
-
You can request a membership pause by emailing us through the website.
We ask for at least two weeks’ notice, and pauses need to be for a minimum of two weeks. Membership pauses are available up to twice per year.
-
You can cancel anytime after your initial three-month commitment.
We ask for two weeks’ notice so we can process everything properly
-
Core Club memberships are billed fortnightly, and your class credits are allocated each fortnight.
This gives you a bit more room to move. If one week gets busy, you’re sick, or life takes over, you can use your credits across the fortnight instead of being locked into a strict weekly schedule.
For example, if you’re on a 2x per week membership, you’ll receive 4 credits per fortnight. You might use 1 class one week and 3 the next.
Credits need to be used within the fortnightly billing cycle and don’t roll over beyond that period, so we recommend booking ahead where you can.

Always.
We’re interested in hearing from legendary teachers who want to be involved in Core Club — especially if you care about good movement, good energy, and creating a room people actually want to be in.
If that sounds like you, get in touch through the website or email us with a little about yourself, your training, and what you’d love to bring to the space.
